Microsoft Office 2011 for MAC due in October and cheaper then previous versions

Microsoft has finally announced the retail availability dates of its Office for Mac 2011 productivity suite. It will be hitting shelves worldwide by end-October. Microsoft will offer this productivity suite in two editions - Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 & Office for Mac Home and Business 2011. As we reported earlier, that the Office for Mac 2011 would be released in 32-bit version only. 

The Office for Mac 2011 for the Mac platform users will get a comparative price benefit than the price of Office for Mac 2008. The basic Home and Student 2011 Edition witnessed a price cut of $30 and the Home and Business 2011 Edition saw a hefty price cut of $200 when compared to respective Office for Mac 2008 editions. 

For Mac users, Microsoft will offer the Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 edition for $120 (Rs. 5,550 approx.) while the Office Home and Student 2008 is available for Rs. 5,073 at Microsoft India Store. Similarly, the Office for Mac Home and Business edition will be sold for $200 (Rs. 9,230 approx.) and Office Home and Business 2008 is priced for Rs. 10,886. 

As of now, the Indian pricing of Office for Mac 2011 edition isn't listed at Microsoft India Store. 




Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 edition will have Word for Mac, Excel for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, and Messenger for Mac 8. On the other hand, Home and Business 2011 edition will include Outlook for Mac along with the aforementioned office applications. 

Microsoft will also offer Office for Mac Academic Edition 2011 to higher education students, faculty and staff members at just $100 from authorized Academic stores. This special edition will include Word for Mac, Excel for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, Outlook for Mac and even Messenger for Mac 8.

uTorrent and BitTorrent beta comes to Android, available on Google Play
