Easily Join / Merge Rotate Two or more video files without encoding or convert videos using ffmpeg in Windows (Or any other OS Mac OS, Linux) for free.

ffmpeg is a pretty handy tool for format transcoding, basic editing (trimming and concatenation), video scaling, video post-production effects, and standards compliance (SMPTE, ITU). One of the basic requirement of merging or combining two or more videos is a task that can be easily accomplished by using ffmpeg . ffmpeg is a free and open source as well. And the performance is easily on par if not better than most paid software solutions. In order to merge two or more videos follow the steps:-  First copy all video files into a folder. Windows 8 will ditch Aero Glass interface

Microsoft's Jensen Harris, Director of Program Management for Microsoft’s User Experience team, over on the Building Windows 8 Blog has revealed that it has made some big changes to its desktop UI for Windows 8, which includes moving away from Aero Glass — the UI first introduced with Vista. According to the company, this means visual changes that include "flattening surfaces, removing reflections, and scaling back distracting gradients." Aero gave the appearance of highly-rendered glass, light sources, reflections, and other graphically complex textures in the title bars, taskbar, and other system surfaces. The effect, which was purely cosmetic, allowed the desktop, icons and windows that were hidden beneath other windows to show through the surround of the application. This the new theme that will replace the Aero Glass UI. To conclude, I am not a fan of Metro UI, it looks and feels to boring and dull (read ugly) to me. The use to bold colors adds makes it look ...

Make Windows 7, XP or Vista speak a Personal Welcome message everytime you login

You can make your PC narrate welcome message each time you logon to Windows. You must be familiar with Windows build-in Text to Speech program (Narrator) which is in comparison with Windows Vista, more powerful and easy to go around with. We will be creating a simple script to use Windows Narrator class to speak the message. To begin, all you need is to create a VB script file to make use of Windows 7 narrator. First, create a new text file and open it in Notepad. Now insert the following lines of code. In the second line, you can enter any phrase or a sentence that is to be narrated, within the double quotation marks. Dim speaks, speech speaks=”Welcome Mr User” Set speech=CreateObject(“sapi.spvoice”) speech.Speak speaks Save the changes made and close the file. Now rename the file extension to .VBS. In the last step, all that is required is to place this newly created script into Windows Startup folder. In Windows 7, you can directly navigate to Startup folder using the ...

Install Windows 7 or Windows Vista from a USB Drive

Many people are not aware of this, but it is quite possible to install Windows Vista, or Windows 7 from a flash drive. Even among those who are aware of this face, few like to do it themselves, since the procedure involves some command line voodoo. Many people are afraid that the smallest misstep will render their device useless. Well, gone are the days when such people would need to go to the neighbourhood geek to get their USB devices made bootable and ready to install Windows 7. Windows 7 USB / DVD Download Tool is a software focused on doing one thing, and one thing only. It takes a Windows 7 disc image file, and produces a bootable DVD or USB drive for the user. It is true that in DVD burning scenarios, there are plenty of other choice and better competitors, but few are capable of creating a bootable Windows 7 USB with its clean GUI, easy interface and impressive performance. What's more? It's completely free! Its operation is simple. Select the Windows 7 ISO imag...

Apple Magic Trackpad Review

These days many computer users learned how to compute and surf on a laptop rather than on a traditional desktop. For these users, a trackpad—which combines both a touchpad and mouse buttons— is more familiar than the traditional computer mouse. Apple, with its extensive experience with multi-touch trackpads has introduced an item that people have been asking me about for many years: the Apple Magic Trackpad ($69 list), a trackpad for desktop computers. Like its counterpart on Mac laptops, the Magic touchpad supports four-finger multitouch gestures, and it offers Apple's much-lauded design aesthetic. But for those used to navigating with a traditional mouse or with a touchpad that has separate mouse buttons, the learning curve could be a tad steep. Design The Magic Trackpad is essentially a sloping slab of aluminum with a glass mousing surface. It feels like a larger version of the trackpad found on all current MacBook and MacBook Pros. The Magic Trackpad is just under an inc...

Apple Enables Safari Extensions

Apple on Wednesday released an update to Safari 5 which turns on extensions support akin to what browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer have been offering for years. Prior to joining Kaspersky Lab, Ryan was Editor-at-Large/Security at eWEEK, leading the magazine’s and Web site’s coverage of Internet and computer security issues and managing the popular SecurityWatch blog, covering the daily threats, vulnerabilities and IT security technologies. He also covered IT security, hacker attacks and secure content management topics for Jupiter Media’s internetnetnews.com. Microsoft, Amazon and Twitter Agree … He had reported the problem to Apple more than a month before, but decided to disclose the vulnerability after he received only automated replies to his e-mailed queries. Like its App Store, it appears that the extension must carry some type of digital signature provided by Apple in order to install. It was not specified though whether this meant that an extension would ne...

Microsoft Security Essentials Review

If you thought that anti-virus software was something that got in the way of doing what you wanted to do, then it's time to think again. Microsoft's long promised free anti-virus tool has finally arrived, and there's no longer any excuse for not protecting your PC. Microsoft Security Essentials is free, unobtrusive, and it works. When Microsoft closed down its OneCare service, and announced that it was going to be releasing a free security tool, it was easy to make jokes. OneCare hadn't been a success, and its anti-virus component wasn't as effective as many of the free alternatives. But Microsoft rarely gives up, and it hired several well-respected antivirus researchers to give its security practice a much needed boost – initially for its enterprise ForeFront solution, and then to work on a consumer version, codenamed Morro. The install is quick and easy, with three versions available for download. One is for 32-bit XP systems, the others are separate 32- a...

INTERNET EXPLORER 8 ( iE8) Review

I've been playing with IE8 beta 1, and I've got some thoughts ... In terms of user visible HTML rendering features, I think IE 8 beta 1 is possibly the biggest release of IE in nearly 11 years since April 1997 when IE 4.0 alpha 1 was released. The history shows mostly bug fixes, and chrome changes since then. Maybe transparent PNG or Bidi text are bigger than Activities? It looks like that's going to be the feature that most people talk about, so I'm going to talk about some of the other stuff. There are 3 big things I'm interested in, and a few smaller features: 6 Connection Limit I've been testing the new 6 connection limit. It works perfectly in my testing, Without any cookie or window.name hacks, DWR can do reverse ajax using comet to more than 2 browser windows: DOM Storage IE is way behind everyone else in implementing HTML5 features. So this is catching up to everyone else. It will be interesting to hear from the Dojo guys on this. // sessionSt...

Speed up Mozilla Firefox about 3 to 30x Faster

If you are using firefox like me then you should try this. 1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. 4.After altering the entrie...

COMMAND PROMPT TRICKS

Command Prompt Here I give you some basic knowledge about DOS. * History Doskey: - It keeps the history of all the commands you use. Simply press [F7] & use up & down keys to select the command. * Command Prompt after running application Many times a Dos or command line based program is run through the usual Start > Run method – say something like chkdsk or a network tracert command. The program executes & then shuts down the command line window with it. If you want to see what happens & read the report generated. To do this type the name of application or command after “cmd /k” without quotes. For example, cmd /k chkdsk d: will scan the disk, display the results & leave the command prompt window open. * Copy & Paste Most of us have, at some point or other, tried to copy something from or into the command window but the shortcuts [Ctrl] + [C] & [Ctrl] + [V] just wouldn’t work. To copy text from the command prompt, you need to first right click in...

Increase the life of ur dvd rom.

This is an interesting one!!! This is for those who watch movies on their computer's dvd rom drive!!! There is a software called dvd idle pro which can really increase the life of your dvd drive. By using the Smart Read-ahead Cache, DVDIdle saves DVD data which will be played soon onto the hard disk cache or RAM cache, and then feeds it to DVD player. This allows the DVD drive to rest. For example: a 6X-speed DVD drive will only work for 15 minutes when you are watching a 90 minutes DVD movie. here is the link: http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDIdlePro59.exe

Unlock The Supersecret Admin Account In Vista

Deep inside the bowels of Windows Vista, there's a secret Administrator account, and it's different from the normal administrator account you most likely have set up on your PC. This Administrator account is not part of the Administrator group. (Confused yet? You should be.) It's a kind of superadministrator, akin to the root account in Unix, and by default it's turned off and hidden. (In describing this hack, we'll always use the capital "A" for the secret Administrator account, and a lowercase "a" for a normal administrator account.) In versions of Windows before Windows Vista, the Administrator account wasn't hidden, and many people used it as their main or only account. This Administrator account had full rights over the computer. In Windows Vista, Microsoft changed that. In Vista, the Administrator account is not subject to UAC, but normal administrator accounts are. So the Administrator can make any changes to the system and will see ...
