Windows 7 review ( Hot or Not )

I was one of the early adopters of Vista & also one of the early Quitters of Vista. Vista was building much hype but in the end it was not able to sustain that hype & eventually became a disaster. After learning from mistakes in Vista Microsoft again releases another OS named Windows 7.
Windows 7 is the new buzz around.
So after falling for the same buzz I finally downloaded the Windows 7 Ultimate (Build 7100) from Microsoft site (I don't trust Torrents for downloading such softwares). After 10 hours complete 2.36 GB of Windows 7 was in my hand.

In hurry I burned the iso file to a DVD & started to install it.
My system already had Windows XP SP3 fully updated installed. The first thing I noted about Windows 7 is the ease of installing. Just pop in the DVD select to upgrade or complete new install, select the drive in which you want to install, & Sit back. It was very fast & simple. No unnecessary clicks or bugging graphics. I was shocked to see the overall install time of less than 30 minutes. So for initial setup I will give Windows 7 a rating of 8.5 out of 10.

After installing I started it the new boot screen is good but I liked the simple boot screen in of Vista here. Windows 7 is bit to much animated rather the Vista's boot screen was very simple. This is my personal choice you might like the graphic screen. Therefore I am giving it 3 out of 10.

As soon as log on screen I was shocked that Windows XP was not detected & no choice of multi booting appeared. Curse Microsoft they are trying to kill XP. This might be because when Vista was release many users multi booted with XP & in comparison found XP more stable, fast & reliable than Vista so they later removed Vista. This time Microsoft has finally made a move that Windows & doesn't allow Windows XP to run side by side with Windows 7. Later I tried to tweak the system to make it boot XP but all efforts go waste. Even softwares like EasyBCD & Vista Boot PRO were helpless in solving my problem. Here I am giving it 1 out 10(A well deserved score for such a bad move).

Logon screen is much same as like Vista. The desktop is also more or less same with a bit of tweaking in taskbar rest remains same. The taskbar is looking good. Rest options are same I didn't find anything different than Vista. Same Aero interface with a little improved Windows Explorer. The Internet Explorer 8 is came bundled which I think has been tuned a bit to improve its starting time. Windows Media Player 12 also came with it. WMP12 is also the same copy of WMP11. With a bit of cosmetic changes that is the default white background instead of the black background of WMP11. I personally liked the black colour of WMP11. Setting up an internet connection is ease of use. I have Dlink 802C router. After I installed the drivers the internet began to work flawlessly. The User Account Control also is little to stop it from bugging every time I open or close a window. The overall speed of the OS was better than Vista. But still the CPU usage was 20% even though it was a new install with no programs installed. Then I saw the Windows experience index which gave my PC a rating of 2 while vista was giving a rating of 4. I installed a couple of games like F.E.A.R, Unreal Tournament, Bioshock, Crysis, Need For Speed, Universe of War, Gears of War & Sims. But many games like Crysis, Bioshock, F.E.A.R. refused to work, Unreal Tournament, NFS, UOW sometimes crashed. However GOW & Sims worked flawlessly. Strange all games worked even under Vista. here I rate it 5 out of 10.

Now some Pros & Cons of Windows 7.

Pros:-
* Improved ease of use.
* More Responsive UI.
* Math Input application through which one can easily insert complex mathematical expressions in a word processor.
* Improve Paint & Calculator applications.
* Less bugging UAC.
* Less resource hungry than Vista
* Installing is very easy & fast..
* Minimizing all open windows when shaking a window.

Cons:-
*XP not supported.
*Not not as widely supported as XP.
*Only minor changes in UI.
*The Ctrl + Alt + Delete shortcut has been replaced just like in Vista.
* UAC exists which is useless piece of software.
* Windows Defender should also be removed or improved so that it consumes less resources.
* Still high on resources than XP

Verdict:-
Well as for final thoughts I have shifted back to good old XP for good. Windows 7 is definitely better than Vista in almost all aspects. But still it can be called just another Vista in new packing with bells & whistles. I would have loved it if it would have been provided as a Service Pack to Vista also one big issue is that I need XP to do my everyday work. And something that wont support I wont shift to it. Therefore Its XP all way for me. Microsoft should learn that we need a completely new OS which has the stability of & support of XP & interface of Windows 7. I think after the market failure of Vista Microsoft have gone desperate to release another OS as a result Windows 7 with nothing new emerges. Which I doubt will be a market success. Hey if anyone from Microsoft is listening Please don't release like Windows 7 that is old wine in a new bottle.

A wish list of features Windows 8 should have:-
* Do away with Registries. Registries clutter in the system making it exceptionally slow in due course of time.
* A 3D cube for desktop should be integrated instead of an add on.
* WinFlip is not useful in case of a large number of Windows are open.
* Windows is a OS it should come as OS only & not try to add softwares that are not useful for some users.
* UAC is just a piece of irritating which should be removed completely.
* Add support to atleast some major distributions of Linux.
* While installing a software instead of copying its files to many folders only the software should be copy pasted to a particular folder should get it installed & deleting it should make uninstall. Like in MAC OS.
* Windows Search is better in Windows & than Vista but it is still slower than Google Desktop Search & Spotlight.
* Shortcuts to files & programs should be sticky like in Mac OS so that when file is moved from original position it doesn't get useless.
* Windows Firewall should get improved like Zone Alarm.
* It should not use resources when computer is idle like Linux which will improve the software & games performance.
* Internet Explorer should be improved although IE8 is good but still it doesn't render many websites properly.

As for final average rating of Windows 7 is 4.
And ratings like Windows 7 gives to a PC is 1 out 10(In this method just select the least rating given rating which is 1).
As for upgrade advice I would say one should only shift to Windows if he desperately needs to upgrade else use XP its still the most widely used & supported OS in the world.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Beta Review and Download

                                                                                   Which browser do you use for daily surfing chances are you would say Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera etc… anything but Internet Explorer. However, Microsoft has just unleashed the beta version of IE9, which could make you change your mind about browsers. The first look I would say, It's very minimalist: the box is both the address bar and the search box. The default is of course Bing, but you can change that. Next to that are tabs; to the far right of the screen are discreet icons for your home page, your favorites (not everyone is going to like that being moved to the other side of the screen) and your tools. And that's it. What you get instead of toolbars, add-ons, buttons and sidebars is just acres of screen real estate. Perhaps a little too much on a wide, high-res screen as many websites are designed as though they're going to fit on a sheet of A4 paper, though generally the sense is o

uTorrent and BitTorrent beta comes to Android, available on Google Play

Earlier this year, we heard reports that BitTorrent Inc., was working on an Android version of its popular uTorrent and BitTorrent client.  Fans of the uTorrent and BitTorrent torrent clients can now rejoice!, your  favorite  desktop torrent clients are now  available  on your mobile devices, because BitTorrent Inc. has launched a beta apps of uTorrent and BitTorrent clients for any mobile or tablet running Android OS. These are fully functional, standalone clients unlike the Remote apps that were available until now.   There are many torrent clients already available on Google Play, but most of them are have limited functionality and are ad-supported unless you have a paid version but both of these apps are currently free, with features like RSS feeds for serialized downloads , unlimited upload/download speed, and running and downloading over WiFi in background, currently there are no limits on download sizes either. Both  apps support devices running Android 2.1 and higher. He
