Vernee, the newest entrant in the Chinese smartphone brands, has gathered a lot of attention with its flagship Vernee Apollo smartphone that was recently launched at $400. The Vernee Apollo came with high-end features and was the cheapest smartphone with 6GB of RAM. But Vernee has outdone itself with 'Lite' version of the Apollo, which retains the powerful Mediatek Helio X20 chipset and offers 4 GB of RAM for just $200. Microsoft today updated to version 1.5 of the Kinect for Windows runtime and SDK, and made Kinect for Windows hardware additionally available in Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. The company says that additional countries will be added in June, which include Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, India, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. The current price of Kinect for Windows is $249 . The updated release adds several capabilities intended to help developers use the Kinect sensor in new and intriguing ways. The Intex Avatar 3D touch mobile phone recently hit the shores of India.  Bearing a 2.8-inch stereoscopic display that requires 3D glasses (bundled) to view the 3D content, the Intex Avatar also features a one-touch 2D image/video to 3D convertor.  The Intex Avatar is also a dual-SIM device, of the GSM-GSM type .   This mobile device is accompanied by a free pair of 3D glasses for users to view the converted content in 3D. Any guess, how much it costs a smartphone maker to build a phone, most of you will say CPU, memory, camera or the screen being the most expensive parts. But the correct option is licensing for the operating system. According to IntoMobile reports that ZTE is paying Microsoft about $27 for each Windows Phone it makes. ZTE’s Tania smartphone will hit markets starting from next month and will be running Windows Phone 7.5 OS. The smartphone    features a 4.3 inch screen with the same 800 x 480 pixel resolution that all Windows Phones are required to have, 1 GHz processor from Qualcomm, 5 megapixel camera, no front facing camera, which makes it no special phone except its killer pricing. RIM recently launched a new  device named Blackberry Curve 9380. RIM as of lately is trying to break away from  the image of a staid, business phone and this  device is being marketed as the first consumer oriented , mass market full touch Blackberry device.  The 9380 looks almost identical to the 9350 from the back with only difference being the placement of USB port.  The front of the Curve 9380 is dominated by a 3.2 inches (~188 ppi) TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 360x480. The touchscreen is generally bright and responsive.  The bottom of the device has four backlit buttons separated by an optical trackpad in the middle.  Smooth fingerprint-prone plastic is flanked by high quality matte black plastics on both sides.  The camera remains a 5MP unit with LED flash capable of  2592х1944 pixels still resolution and  VGA recording. Well, this guide will tell you that plus get you a little more familiar with what these cameras are capable of. Megapixels When it comes to megapixels, the more the better. I recommend a minimum of 2, but 3 or 4 is great. We did a test to see if a camera with 2.3 megapixels (actually 1.92 - 1600 x 1200) could produce a good quality 8x10. Turns out it can, if you have the right paper and printer. We used HP Premium Plus photo paper with an HP 970 series printer and made a fantastic 8 x 10. Remember, I was a professional photographer before I got into computing, so I know a good print when I see it :-) The resolution at 8x10 (we had to crop in to make the picture proportional to 8x10) was only 150 DPI.
